Hand Quilting Class
I know I have a lot of Arlington locals interested in quilting, so I thought I'd tell you that I just signed up for a Hand Quilting Class at Lone Star House of Quilts. I don't see myself doing a ton of hand quilting in the near future, but I've always wanted to at least know how. And with the class only being a mere $15, I couldn't pass it up. If you'd like to join me, please do! The class is going to fill up fast. It's being taught by an award winning quilter and is May 15th, from 10:30-12:30. Hope to see you there!

Fussy-cut Bee
I finally finished march's bee block for Lisa.

I love how the brighter pink brings out the stamens of the flower and the darker pink draws out the leaf from the fussy-cut center flower.

Sorry it's late Lisa! Hope you like it!

Block of the Month Update
Not a lot of sewing has been going on around here lately. We've had sickness after sickness since the beginning of the year (literally, since day 1.) I have managed to sew 3 blocks though. Two for the block of the month and one for the bee Im participating in.
I got such a great response on my first two blocks for the Block of the Month, that I thought I'd share the blocks for months 3-7. (more about the Block of the Month found here.)
These two (3 &4) are my least favorite out of all the blocks. I think it's because I dont care for all the fabrics. Especially the dusty pink and mustard yellow of block 3. I just dont think they go with the rest of the bright colors of the other blocks.
The last (bottom) two might be my favorites. Love the fabrics and that the block patterns are a bit different than the others.

Btw, these photos turned out horrible! Sorry!

seeing double
Remember this guy?
Well I ended up having enough scraps to make another, slightly smaller, quilt! I was so excited because this is one of my favorite fabric lines for boys and am so glad to be able to offer it up to others out there looking for a good boys quilt. Because, you know, they are pretty hard to find!
Quilt measures approx. 36.5" x 42.5" making it a great size for a baby or toddler. Fabrics are from the All Star collection by Riley Blake designs. Quilt can be found in my etsy shop here!
